Macau –Thailand (Phuket) Route of Air Asia Inaugurates08 Jan 2018

The first Thailand (Phuket) - Macau flight of “Air Asia” landed at Macau International Airport (MIA) on 8th January 2018, to commemorate the official launch of this new route, “Air Asia” held an inaugural flight ceremony at Macau International Airport (MIA).  The new Macau to Phuket route with daily direct flights will mark the airline's fourth Thailand route and seventh international destinations from Macau.

 

The volume of air passengers of Macau International Airport (MIA) continued to show steady according to statistics. In 2017, MIA's passenger was over 7 million, reaching a new high over the past years. Passengers of the Southeast Asia Market posted a year-on-year growth of 10% in 2017. MIA is always looking for opportunity in providing better connectivity to the World, and believe this new route is set to be another popular destination for the travellers from Macau and Pearl River Delta region. It could promote the economic growth of both parties and create a conducive environment for the tourism industry.

 

MIA, as always, strives to incorporate with the objectives of the government's policy to build Macau as a “World Tourism and Leisure Center”, with Air Asia commence services between Macau and Thailand (Phuket), it marked a further step in expanding air transportation between both regions, and along with the expedite growth of travelers, it enhanced closer co-operation between the two places.  MIA will continue working with airlines, to explore opportunities and strengthen co-operation, and further expand Macau air service networks, at the same time to increase the convenience of the travellers.
