Airport Operation Department Convened Meeting to Take Measure for the Peak Travel Season16 Jul 2018

Macau International Airport (MIA) has recorded 20% passenger growth in the first half of 2018; meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority of Macao SAR Government (AACM) has approved 183 additional flights from the period of 1st July to 31st August, 2018.  As to ensure safety and smooth arrangement of MIA on the coming peak season, the Airport Operation Department (AOD) of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) has convened an airport operation meeting.

In order to ensure the peak of summer travel, AOD convened a meeting with respective airlines, airport security and various operation units hosted by the Director of Operations Branch, Mr. Gary Geng, to discuss about measures to optimize and increase efficiency, which included: flexible allocation of resources from all units when necessary, passenger service is the priority; increase security check channels for passengers to ease passenger traffic in peak hours, hoping to increase efficiency and reduce passenger’s waiting time; in case of flight delay or cancellation during adverse weather, airlines are required to update flight information in a timely manner and work closely with relevant units to ensure that passengers receive relevant information and corresponding arrangements.

Lastly, AOD together with the colleague from the Infrastructure Development Department (IFD) of CAM introduced the airport’s renovation project during the peak season to the meeting participants, hoping the respective operation units will draw more attention on their daily operations.

MIA would like to remind all the passengers, before they depart to the airport, please beware of the traffic situation in the city and obtain the latest flight information from MIA website: www.macau-airport.com, which helps to better control the itinerary and time.
