Welcome to EAAA

Introduction

To cope with the rapid changing of the aviation market and increasing demand in the East Asia region, East Asia Airports Alliance (EAAA), a cooperative organization of leading airport organizations from Korea, Japan and China, was established in Jeju (Korea) in December 2001.

EAAA members hold regular meetings at least once a year and may hold additional meetings if necessary. F ive regular meetings have been successfully held in Narita, Shanghai, Incheon ¡A Macau and Beijing respectively between 2002 and 200 6 . The S ixth EAAA Regular M eeting is scheduled to be co-hosted by Nari t a Airport and Haneda Airport in Japan in September 2007, with the discussion topic of ¡§Universal Design¡¨ . Th e topic refers to airport f acilities that are accessible to all members of the community regardless of disability, age, gender or race.

Since its foundation, EAAA has actively worked together to improve air transport services and passenger service s in the East Asia region through eager discussion of common problems associated with airport operations and management.

Major Accomplishment of Macau International Airport:

1) Combined websites among members
Links to member airport s have been set up in this introductory site so that passengers traveling between East Asian countries can easily obtain necessary information o f the respected airports. The airport websites are being translated into 4 languages with mutual linguistic checks and advice offered between the airports.

2) Standardization of airport signage
Airports of EAAA m embers are suggested to adopt standardized pictograms and signage in future terminal expansion and renovation based on ¡¥EAAA Preference Pictograms and Glossary¡¦ that members worked together. Macau International Airport had completed airport signage standardization with four languages in 2006.

3) Joint customer satisfaction campaign
Members exchanged ideas on how to provide better service quality for passengers . Macau International Airport had implemented the CS campaign jointly with other members on the theme of ¡§Feel the Asian Way¡¨ started on July 1 2005.

4) Cost efficiency issue
