MGTO airlines support 2009

Macau Tourism Program to Support Aviation Industry

MGTO would focus on supporting the Marketing Activities of the airlines in the following aspects:

Support to new routes to Macau

  • Media campaign in the source market for 6 months (pre-and during the initial flight services)
  • Inaugural flight trade mission to the source markets (seminar and trade workshops)
  • Inaugural flight Media and Trade Dinner in the source markets
  • Media and trade FAM trips to Macau from the source markets (land arrangements)
  • Consumer Roadshow in the source markets where appropriate

Definition of new routes
New routes are scheduled routes not operated by any airline since January of previous year.

Remarks:
Promotion budget support to 14 airlines now flying to Macau via BAR (Macau)
Based on the proposal from Board of Airlines Representatives (BAR) (Macau), MGTO may consider giving financial support to each of the airlines’ regular promotion activities, each of the airline company still have to submit individual marketing activities plan for MGTO analysis and approval.

Details for Application:

  • All promotional activities must be completed by Thursday, 31st December 2009;
  • All applications must be submitted to the Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) 15 days prior to the commencement of the activity;
  • Applicant is obliged to submit an “Activity Report”, together with relevant invoices / receipts, to MGTO, within 30 days upon completion of the promotional activity.

Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) will provide the marketing support in either one of the following methods:

  • MGTO will pay 50% of the actual expenses of the promotional activity (in MOP) to the representative office in Macau of the airline;
  • Should the airline request MGTO of settling a payment with a third-party supplier, the Supplier ought to issue an official invoice / receipt with an amount equivalent to 50% of the actual expenses of the promotional activity. MGTO will then settle the payment (in MOP or USD) with the Supplier directly.
