MIA was awarded “2008 Air Cargo - Award of Excellence”
Macau International Airport was awarded the 2008 Air Cargo - Award of Excellence in the airport category of 499,999 or less tons in Asia & Middle East for achieving a superior overall score from the readers of Air Cargo World magazine for the third year. This achievement shows that the ability of cargo handling and service quality of MIA is being recognized in the world.
Air Cargo World is a cargo magazine which was established in 1942 and it is one of the leading magazines of the cargo industry. It organizes the “Air Cargo Excellence Award” survey and this is the fourth annual. In the survey, respondents are airlines and forwarders, which evaluated each airport by rating four measures on a scale of one as the lowest and five as the highest. The measurement criteria for evaluating airports are their performance, value, facilities and regulatory operations. For each measure, the average rating across all airports in the survey was calculated and set to a value of 100. In the survey, Macau International Airport achieves a superior overall score of 101 which represents the performance of MIA is above the average and won the award.
A score greater than 100 represents above standard performance and Macau International Airport attain a relatively high ranking in this category. The airports that are rated over 100 include Nagoya, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Shanghai Honqiao, New Delhi, Macau and Sharjah.
It is our great honor that Macau International Airport once again receives this award and it shows MIA is gaining an important position among airlines and forwarders.
