Macau International Airport’s Passenger Traffic Volume Continues to Grow in the Year of Dragon

Macau International Airport’s passenger traffic volume set a new monthly record in January 2012. Passenger Traffic volume reached 350 thousands, increased by 18% comparing to same period last year, and aircraft movements recorded 3400, representing a 5.5% growth. Passengers from Mainland China and Southeast Asia continue to grow. During the Lunar New Year, airlines increased flight frequencies to carry inbound and outbound travelers. In the first week of lunar calendar, passenger traffic volume increased 14% comparing to same period last year, and aircraft movement recorded a 9% increase. Through the initiative marketing strategy to launch new routes, and with the support from the Macau SAR Government and the aviation partners, Macau International Airport achieves outstanding results.
To enrich the seasonal atmosphere for travelers, Macau International Airport embellished the terminal building with spectacular golden dragon and exquisite Lunar New Year decorations. The “God of Wealth” at the terminal building gave New Year’s blessing to passengers, and offer photo opportunity for them to have a remarkable travel experience.
