Dr. Deng Jun - Chairman of the Executive Committee of Macau International Airport Co., Ltd. (CAM) led a delegation to pay a courtesy visit to Air Macau Company Ltd. on 11th Jan 2017, and had a discussion with the President of Executive Committee cum CEO Mr. Chen Hong on the continual development trend of the industry, to hand in hand introduce more preferential policies to facilitate Macao citizens’ travel.
In the conversation, Mr. Chen congratulated Macao International Airport (MIA) on the rapid development in 2016, breaking records to obtain more than 6.62 million passengers, of which Air Macau accounted for over 40% of the market share. Chairman Deng mentioned that the airlines’ generally were having load factor increased in the past year. In addition to the active exploration of routes, Air Macau also studied the market trends and made various preferential policies to expand passenger sources and hence increased the passenger traffic. While developing the market, Air Macau highlighted the importance of fostering local aviation professionals and planning various talent development policies, including the “Macau Local Cadet Pilot Program” attracting more local talents to join the industry.
