On 23rd Apr 2016, Dr. Deng Jun – the Chairman of Executive Committee of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) led a delegation to attend the Kansai-Osaka International Airport Operations Launch Ceremony. The delegates had a meeting with the representative from Kansai Airports to learn their experience in the process of this business operational model of the two airports in Osaka of Japan.
In a press release, Kansai Airports announced to have the management team initiates the operation of Kansai International Airport and Osaka International Airport from 1st Apr 2016. “As of April 1, 2016, Kansai Airports succeeded the right of operating Kansai International Airport (“KIX”) and Osaka International Airport (“ITM”) from New Kansai International Airport Company (“NKIAC”) after signed the concession contract with scheduled project period of 44 years with the NKIAC on 15th December 2015, and commenced its business as an operating company for the two airports. Kansai Airports was established by a consortium made of VINCI Airports and ORIX Corporation as its core members. Mr. Yoshiyuki Yamaya – CEO of Kansai Airports stated in the Launch Ceremony that with the transfer of concession right lasted for a year and he believed that the two airports would be able to manage the expanding internal and external aviation and tourism markets in the future.
Other representatives attended the ceremony are: Mr. Eric Fong – Director of Marketing Department, Mr. Anthony U – Director of Legal Affairs Department and Ms. Vicki Mou – Chief of Corporate Communication & Policy Research Office.
