Dr. Deng Jun – Chairman of the Executive Committee of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) lead a delegation to attend the opening ceremony of Hydrogen Gas Station of New Kansai International Airport on 29 January 2016 including Ms. Vicki Mou – Chief of Corporate Communication & Policy Research Office, Ms. Stella Chan – Administrative Assistant of Executive Committee Office. Mr. Tom Tanigawa, Member of Parliament at Liberal Democratic Party of Japan and Mr. Keiichi Ando, President & CEO of New Kansai International Airport Company warmly welcomed the delegations included Airport of Thailand Plc., Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and Taoyuan International Airport Corporation Ltd. etc..

The hydrogen filling station is set in the second-phase airport island of the Kansai International Airport (KIX) and the first commercial hydrogen filling station is to be introduced in a Japanese airport and of the largest scale in Japan.

Hydrogen can be easily stored and transported, and its only byproduct when burned is water. On the other hand, this hydrogen filling station will not only charge the newly introduced fuel cell vehicle, but also will charge fuel cell-powered buses such as the limousine buses which connect with Osaka International Airport and buses which circulate within the Kansai International Airport. “KIX wants to actively promote awareness of the safety and sensibility of hydrogen power and hopes to lead the Kansai area as an environmentally advanced region.” Mr. Keiichi Ando says.

“I would like to recommend the Hydrogen services to the Technology Application Sharing Professional Committee of A5 of PRD and sincerely hope KIX will keep supporting and cooperating to the members of A5” Dr. Deng Jun stated in his speech at the reception.

Through the ceremony and site visit, it is a good experience for Macau International Airport to absorb more knowledge to improve the airport environment in order to achieve the goal of “Green Airport”.
