Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) held her semi-annual review of 2015 at CAM Office Building on 17thJuly 2015. Chairman of the Board of Directors - Mr. Ma Iao Hang, Chairman of the Executive Committee - Dr. Deng Junand Executive Director - Mr. Tsui Wai Kwanled all staff to participate in the meeting. All Department Directors and Chiefs of Representative Offices reported the results evaluation of the 1st half year of 2014and development direction for the coming 2nd half year.
With the support from the Macau SAR Government and the Board of Directors of CAM, all employees further carried out the development strategy of CAM in 2015 “Growth-Oriented Innovation and Market Expansion” according to the year target at the beginning, forged ahead and realized the smooth business development. Under the circumstance of successive reduction in gambling income of Macau and unpredictable of global economic environment, the local civil aviation industry remains steady rise, which shows theoptimistictourism market situation leads the development of civil aviation and Macau International Airport (MIA). Chairman of the Board of Directors - Mr. Ma Iao Hang concluded the results of MIA in the 1st half year of 2015,MIA handled 2.78 million passengers and 27,000 aircraft movements with a year-on-year increase of 6.6% and 6.9%respectively; Cargo traffic recorded of 13,960 tons,a year-on-year increase of 7.7%; General aviation recorded 1,300 aircraft movements, increased by 14% compare to last year; and the above brought about 19% year-on-year increase in the totalincome of MIA. As forthepassenger market, there were four new routes and 3 new airline companies launched in the first half year of 2015. MIA has operated 38 routes to the world from Macao so far. Meanwhile, there have been a number ofengineering programs carrying out in MIA, including extension projects, renewing projects, data system upgrading etc., which aimed to provide a safer airport with more efficient operation and provide our passengers higher quality services.
The performance of 1st half year of 2015 lays good foundation for the 2nd half year, CAM proposed new targets of 55,000 flight movements including 2,958 general aviation aircraft movements, 29,343 tonnes of cargo, 5.73 million of passenger traffic. MIA is turning 20 on 8th December 2015, series of celebration will be staged in order to celebrate the anniversary and also reward passengers.
