Bassaka Air commenced its first international flight service between Macau and Phnom Penh on 27th October 2014, and provides twice weekly charter flight service. The first flight landed at Macau International Airport (MIA) on the 27th October 2014, 2:10pm., with an inaugural flight ceremony held at the airport. The ceremony was attended by honorable guests including: H.E Mr. Tith Chantha – Vice Minister, Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia, Mr. Phan Peuv – Consulate General of Cambodia Hong Kong & Macau, Mr. Jackson Tsui - Executive Director and Mr. Leong Sio Pui- Executive Director of CAM – Macau International Airport Co., Ltd., Mr. Joseph Stecker – CEO, and Capt. Gabriele Ascenzo – Director of Safety and Security & Director of Training and Standards of Bassaka Air, and Mr. Ed. Chang Shing Pok – CEO of Naga Corp Retail. The ceremony kicked off by lion dance, and was officiate by honorable guests wishing the airlines success in the new operation.
Mr. Tsui Wai Kwan of CAM expressed, with the direct flight operation between Macau – Phnom Penh, it will greatly provide convenience to passengers travelling between Macau and Cambodia, at the same time enhances economic integration and promote cultural exchange of both cities. As always, MIA will continues to reinforce the existing routes, to maintain close cooperation with the airlines aiming to expand the air services network and contribute to the overall economy of Macau.
Bassaka Air is the third new carrier launched at MIA in 2014, based at the Phnom Penh International Airport. Bassaka Air will provide charter flight services at the initial stage, and they intended to launch twice weekly services in the mid November of 2014.
