Macau International Airport Representatives Participated in the World Routes Conference 2014 at Chicago

The 20th World Routes Development Forum took place in Chicago, USA during the 21st to 23rd September 2014.  The forum gathered aviation professionals from worldwide, bringing together the largest range of civil aviation representatives from across 100 countries; over 3,000 delegates from airlines, airports, tourism authorities, and suppliers attended the event.  Mr. Eric Fong, Director of Marketing Department and Ms. Fiona Fong, Officer of Marketing Department of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) represented to join the Forum.  The 3 days conference not only broadened the international perspective of Macau International Airport (MIA), but also strengthened connections with airlines, seek for opportunities and further consolidate and expand the flight service network of MIA.

Recently, MIA has been actively seeking for opportunities to launch long haul flight services; it is hoped by attending the subject forum will bring in more international airlines to the Macau market, providing passengers with more travel options.  In the Forum, one to one meetings were arranged with various airlines to explore business opportunities and introduced the overview of MIA.  A number of airlines showed intention to operate flight service in Macau; in which, Air New Zealand expressed interest to launch trail charter operation from New Zealand – Macau, and Bangkok Airways also expressed intention to launch Koh Samui – Macau flight service.  In addition, meetings were also carried out with Air India, Mega Maldives Airlines, Jetstar Group, Okinawa Tourism Board and etc to explore cooperation opportunities.
