The Association cooperated with the Civil Airport Magazine and the Roland Berger Strategy Consultants to have edited and published the “Development Report on China Airports 2013”which carried out macro-analysis on the Chinese and global civil aviation industry development. A strong positive correlation was noted between air passenger traffic and GDP per capita. A sharp increase of 12.3% was expected from the years of 2011 to 2015, of which international passenger traffic started to increase by year 2012. Overall, the increase rate of air passenger traffic in China from 2015 to 2020 will be predicted as about 9%, while 8% increase will be from 2020-2025.The competition and cooperation within the internal airports group is becoming increasingly complex. Long term development of regional airports would exist with market segmentation, reasonable coordination, co-existence of competition and collaboration. Reasonable competition and cooperation with airport groups will enable optimization of resources allocation, broader and various demands for services, hence promoting regional economic development.
