Dr. Deng Jun, Chairman of Executive Committee of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM), paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Steven Young, Chairman of TAG Aviation Asia Ltd., which based in Hong Kong, on 7th March 2019. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on the development trend of business jets and the development of the civil aviation industry in Macau, which will help promote the development of regional business jets in Macau International Airport (MIA) in the development plan of the Greater Bay Area.
In the "Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area Development Plan Outline" issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on 18th February, the construction of a modern integrated transportation system was mentioned. To strengthen the infrastructure construction of the Bay Area, smooth the external communication channels and improve the internal communication level. In the construction of world-class airport clusters, it is mentioned that the development of differentiated development and good interaction of airports in Greater Bay Area will be promoted. It supports for the expansion of MIA, development of regional business jet business, enhancement of airspace coordination and air traffic management, optimization of airspace structure, improvement of airspace resource use and efficiency, of air traffic control capabilities. In 2018, MIA recorded 3,274 business jet movements, a year-on-year increase of 6.4% steadily. As the second commercial/general aviation fixed base operator (FBO) of Macau International Airport, TAG Aviation (Macau) officially opened at the beginning of this year to provide 24-hour full-service FBO service for business jet passengers, which is believed can assist the development of civil aviation in Macao. At the same time, the two sides also believe that the business jet business can introduce artificial intelligence, network platform, smart payment and other technologies to enhance efficiency and passenger experience. With the development of the civil aviation industry in recent years, Mr. Young believes that it is necessary to increase the training of civil aviation professionals to meet the development needs.
