Chairman of the Executive Committee of CAM Dr. Deng Jun extended a warm welcome to the Inner Mongolia Civil Airports Group Company Delegation on 19th November, 2019. The delegation of six was led by Mr. Li Hong, the Secretary of the Party Committee & Deputy General Manager. After exchanging of ideas during the discussion meeting, the delegation visited Macau International Airport (MIA). The Airports Group Company has signed a Letter of Intent with CAM in May, 2005 regarding the overall strategic cooperation in the fields of technology, administration and market development, and the two sides furthermore have built sister airport relationship ever since. Through the encounter this time, the visitors not only have deepened the knowledge of the general environment as well as the operation in MIA, but also enhanced the business connection plus communication between the two parties; mutual understanding, recognition and learning were likewise achieved as a result.
During the welcome speech, Dr. Deng Jun summarized the recent development of MIA. Though might be categorized as small and medium size airport, MIA’s passenger volume has reached nearly 10 million this year, which probably will be overtaken in 2020; bearing the goals of Safety, Efficiency and Effectiveness, MIA has been strictly following the security and safety rules throughout the 24 years of operation without a single major failure; meanwhile, CAM worked closely with Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and other Airport Authorities, especially with those from mainland China and the Portuguese-Speaking countries, through which more than 530 managerial personnel have been trained in Macau followed by study in Europe. The friendship between CAM and the Inner Mongolia Civil Airports Group Company has been well maintained, which greatly thanks to the constant support from CAAC and the ceaseless effort from both sides. Dr. Deng is looking forward to a closer cooperation along with exchange of valuable experiences between both parties so that the overall safety and security, efficiency and effectiveness will be further strengthened.
The Secretary and Deputy General Manager of the visiting party Mr. Li Hong appreciated the genuine invitation and the reception from Dr. Deng Jun. Mr. Li introduced that the Airports Group Company is currently managing 21 civil airports in the region, and has been maintaining harmonious cooperation with CAM since the moment of becoming the sister airport. The Airport Group has sent 17 managerial personnel over to Macau and Lisbon in Portugal for training, and has participated in many seminars as well as forums organized by CAM, which laid a solid foundation for the bilateral communication and cooperation. Mr. Li highly acclaimed the outstanding performance of MIA in areas of service, operation, effectiveness and international collaboration etc. conducted by CAM who is exclusively authorized by Macau SAR government to administer the airport, and expects to learn the experience in respect of airport planning, management modes and market exploration etc. in order to advance the managing capability.
During meeting, Ms. Grace Cheang, Director of Finance & Administration Department (FAD) introduced the company culture, background and human resources management; Ms. Winnie Hsu, Director of Planning and Commercial Department (PCD) presented MIA’s positioning and operational policy, commercial fields and development strategy for non-aeronautical business; Mr. Sandro Kou, Director of Infrastructure Development Department (IFD) elaborated on the South Terminal Extension Project along with the master plan of MIA’s expansion on reclaimed land; Ms. Vicki Mou, Director of Corporate Communication & Policy Research Office (CPO) showed the status quo ,the development trend and the collaboration mechanism of the airport cluster in Great Bay Area, followed by Mr. Gary Geng, Director of Operations Branch of Airport Operations Department (AOD) who briefly illustrated the present operation, administration & service scope and administration & coordination system.
An airport visit was organized for the delegation following the meeting, which enhanced their recognition of MIA’s commercial development and operation mode. The delegation congratulated on MIA’s high efficiency of the operation out of limited resources which is worthy of learning and referring to.
The other members of the delegation are: Mr. Zhang Jun, Deputy General Manager; Mr. Liu Jian, Office Director; Ms. Zhang Ying, General Manager of Planning and Development Department; Mr. Wang Yan, Manager of Human Resources Department and Ms. Guo Jinmin, Manager of Marketing and Sales Department. Other participants from CAM included: Ms. Katy Lo, Director of Executive Committee Office and Ms. Ellen Tang, Manager of CPO.
