On 6th May, 2020, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) Dr. Deng Jun and the new Executive Committee members, which include: Mr. Chu Tan Neng, Mr. Kan Cheok Kuan, Mr. Lei Si Tai and Mr. Leung Henry Yee Hang, had a meeting with the Commissioner of Fire Services Bureau (CB) Mr. Leong Iok Sam and Acting Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kong Iat Fu, to discuss the joint development between CB and Macau International Airport (MIA).

The Fire Services Bureau Airport Division has been providing fire rescue services at MIA since its operation for 25 years. Nearly 100 firefighters stationed at MIA are required to meet the fire protection requirements of ICAO. The fire main-station is located at the end of the runway built on the sea, the environment for daily work and training is more difficult. With the development of the airport, it is also necessary to add fire-fighting equipment in the future to ensure the safe operation in airport after its expansion. Commissioner Leung introduced the fire-fighting equipment and other facilities such as fitness, office and restroom in the fire main-station to CAM representatives after the meeting to let them understand the working environment of firefighters.
