The “Macao Ready Go! Local Tours” project, coordinated by the Macau Government Tourism Office and sponsored by the Macau Foundation, was officially launched on 22nd June 2020.  Over 20 tour routes have been offering for Macau residents to join at a preferential tour fees.  It aims to gradually resume the local tourism activities while provide local citizens more economical and diversified leisure experiences.  To cope with the Macau SAR government in promoting the recovery of local tourism, Macau International Airport Company Limited has been actively coordinated with relevant departments to launch the “Macau International Airport Experience Tour” on 31st July this year, leading participants to further explore the operations of Macau International Airport and other aviation entities.

The participants were allowed to deepen their understanding of the civil aviation industry in Macau, at the meantime, the ground handling workflows and airport operations were also introduced.  Tour members were also getting on board the aircraft for experiencing the take-off procedure and exploring the cabin of a private jet.  As of 31st August 2020, Macau International Airport has welcomed 99 groups with a total of 3,610 persons joining “Macau International Airport Experience Tour”.  Most members commented the tour brought them the long-lost joyful like traveling abroad, when they walked through the airport and even experience the boarding during the pandemic.  It is believed that the “local tour” allows the citizens to learn more about the latest development of the community and tourism products, moreover, promoting domestic tourism with creating more job opportunities while playing an integral role in stabilizing Macau’s economy.
