CAM Representative Participated in the 18th Meeting of Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific and Middle East Regional Environment Committee

The 18th Meeting of Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific & Middle East Regional Environment Committee (REC) was held from 12th to 13th March 2024 in Bangalore, India. Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) is one of the members of the Committee, sent representative to participate in the meeting.

During the meeting, environmental topics such as Green Airports Recognition Award, Airport Carbon Accreditation Programme, carbon net zero roadmap, climate change adaptation, environmentally sustainable measures, as well as sustainable aviation fuel were presented by representatives of members and the guest speakers; details of abovementioned topics were also discussed among participants, in order to share various practices amongst airports in the region.  In addition, updates on results of Environmental Survey 2023, Cabin Waste Survey and Climate Change Adaptation Survey, as well as the latest work of various Task Forces and coming work plans were introduced by the Committee. Afterwards, the meeting ended with an airport tour to the Bangalore Kempegowda International Airport visiting the plant nursery and landside areas of the airport.

Sustainability is a collective journey and requires long term effort to achieve. It is a great opportunity for CAM to participate in the meeting and learn about the environmental and sustainability initiatives of other airports in the region, which can broaden our vision and assist in further sustainable development of Macau International Airport.
