CAM Representatives Attended the 11th Meeting of the ICAO Aeronautical Communication Services Implementation Coordination Group (ACSICG/11)

Representatives of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) attended the Eleventh Meeting of the Aeronautical Communication Services Implementation Coordination Group (ACSICG/11), hosted by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Asia-Pacific Regional Office in Bangkok, Thailand from 19th to 22nd March 2024, with a total of 82 representatives from 20 States/Regions in Asia Pacific (APAC) Region and 3 international organizations/industry partners. Ms. Brendah Choi, Senior Head of Aeronautical Information and Communications Service of Air Traffic Services Division and Ms. Sarah Yang, IT & CNS Engineer of Engineering & Maintenance Branch of Airport Operations Department of CAM participated the meeting together with the representative from the Civil Aviation Authority of Macao Special Administrative Region (AACM).

The meeting went through the working papers and group discussions, reviewed the outcomes of relevant ICAO meetings such as the Twelfth Meeting of Common aeRonautical Virtual Private Network Operations Group (CRV OG/12) and topics like Aeronautical Mobile Service (AMS) and Datalink communication, Air Traffic Services Message Handling System (AMHS) / Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunication Network (AFTN) routing issues and coordination with ATS Messaging Management Centre (AMC), AMHS transition to System Wide Information Management (SWIM), and Aeronautical Fixed Service (AFS) related cyber-safety/security issues, the best practices and resilience etc,.  The representatives from various States/Regions also shared experiences and updated on their AMHS / Aeronautical Telecommunication Network (ATN) / ATS Interfacility Data Communication (AIDC) implementation status and readiness of AMHS to support the Meteorological Information Exchange Model (IWXXM).

Through this meeting, CAM is able to keep tracking on the development trend of international aviation communications services and gain valuable information by sharing experiences with others, which in turn aids for smoother implementation of CRV and AMHS system replacement to support the project IWXXM.
