On 10th April 2024, Executive Directors of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) Mr. Chu Tan Neng, Mr. Lei Si Tai led a delegation to visit Deputy Administrator of the Aviation Security Bureau of Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) Mr. Li Tong. Both parties had in-depth exchanges and discussions on improving airport security personnel training.
Executive Director Mr. Chu Tan Neng, expressed gratitude to CAAC for their guidance and support to CAM. He mentioned that the passenger volume and aircraft movements during Chinese New Year in the year of 2024 have already recovered to 76% and 73% of 2019, indicating a positive overall recovery trend. Currently, CAM is carrying out the preliminary work of the Hengqin project, the security-related tasks will also be integrated in the project. It is hoped that CAM could collaborate with Beijing Captial International Airport in the area of security operations and trainings to ensure a long-term plan and development for professional security personnel of Macau International Airport (MIA), by inviting professionals from these fields to provide guidance in CAM, as to further enhance the security standards of MIA. The Aviation Security Bureau of CAAC expressed their attention and support, and will assist the long-term development of MIA.
The representatives from the Aviation Security Bureau of CAAC include: Deputy Administrator Ms. Tang Furong, Director of the Security Checkpoint Division Ms. Gu Yi, Director of the Regulations and Standards Division Mr. Zhou Hui and Director of the International Affairs Office for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Office Mr. Zhang Le. Representatives from CAM include: Chief Representative of Beijing Representative Office Ms. Yuan Weifang and Managing Director of SEMAC Security Company Mr. Paul Leong.
