Representatives from Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) participated in the Macao Tourism + MICE Product Updates Seminar and Travel Mart in Tokyo, Japan on 16th April 2025 organized by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), followed by the Experience Macao Roadshow on 17th April. The purpose is to further enhance tourism collaboration between two places and attract more Japanese visitors to Macau. The seminar session brought together around 210 industry representatives from both regions to discuss partnership opportunities as well as to showcase the emerging tourism attractions and signature events from Macau. Meanwhile, the roadshow featured a rich program that incorporated iconic Japanese anime elements while vividly showcasing the unique tourism experiences of Macau. The lively event attracted large crowds of local citizens, creating an energetic atmosphere on site.
Through this promotional event, it is aiming to further promote the diversified development of Macau’s tourism economy and expand international visitor sources. During the event, CAM representatives engaged in discussions with leading Japanese travel industry and airline partners to explore new cooperation opportunities, creating more potential for the development of Macau’s tourism industry. In the first quarter of 2025, CAM welcomed approximately 28% more Japanese travellers compared to the same period last year, making it a highly promising Northeast Asian market. Moving forward, to align with the Macao SAR Government’s policy objective of diversifying international visitor sources, Macau International Airport has collected relevant information and formulated a feasibility report along with proposed incentive policies for new route development. Efforts are ongoing to further engage with Japanese-based airlines, such as Spring Japan, Jetstar Japan and Peach Aviation, to explore the feasibility of launching routes to Macau. These initiatives aim to attract more visitors from the Northeast Asia region and enhance the air route network of Macau International Airport.
Mr. Edman Lee, Deputy Director of Marketing Department (MKD) of CAM and Ms. Natalie Fong, Manager of MKD represented to join the events.
