Representatives from Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) participated in the Spring Festival promotional events in Taipei on 20th March 2018. The events were organized by MGTO, the program included one media luncheon, one travel mart and other activities at Taipei, with over 20 Macau travel trade delegates joined the events. Mr. Franco Kwan, Deputy Director of Marketing Department and Mr. Daniel Lam, Manager of Marketing Department of CAM participated in the events.
Taiwan market is the third largest source of visitors to Macau. There are three airlines operating Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung cities direct flight services, Macau International Airport (MIA) recorded passenger traffic volume over 290,000 for the month of January and February in 2018, compared to the same period last year there was an increase by 12%. Taking the advantages of strong Japanese route network and slot advantages, Tigerair Taiwan attracted passengers transfer through Taipei to Japan cities, including Tokyo Narita, Osaka, Haneda, Sendai, Okayama, Komatsu, Ibaraki, Hanamaki, Hakodate, Nagoya, Okinawa, Fukuoka, Asahikawa and other places for leisure. EVA Air also proactively promotes Macau passengers to transit via Taipei to North America and European destinations, which significantly increased the sustainable growth of Taiwan market traffic of MIA effectively.
Taking the opportunity of these two days’ events, CAM representatives have connected base with Air Macau, EVA Air, Tigerair Taiwan, China Airlines, Mandarin Airlines, Hong Kong Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airways and other airlines and exchanged information among each other.
MIA always incorporates Macau SAR Government’s policy of tourism development, and actively cooperates with relevant institutions and business partners aiming to develop more potential and diversify tourism products to passengers.
