Macau International Airport is one of the members of ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Environment Committee (REC). Mr. Derek Chan, Senior Head of Quality & Environmental Division, as the representative of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM), participated in the 10th meeting on 17 & 18 October 2018. The Committee gathered in Kansai International Airport of Osaka to discuss on the topics of “Airports Environmental Initiatives”, “Climate Change Adaptation”, “Renewable Energy”, “Aircraft Noise Management” and “Wildlife Trafficking” in order to share good practices in environment protection and promote them amongst Asia-Pacific airports.
During the meeting, the Committee also updated the latest work; shared the results of the ACI Asia-Pacific Environmental Survey 2017, REC Strategy and Work Plan in coming years. And finally it ended with a hydrogen bus tour to visit the host airport’s environmental projects. A great opportunity it is for Macau International Airport to learn about the environmental initiatives implemented by other airports in the region.
