Royal Flight commenced flight service between Macau and Moscow on 17th May 2016, offering twice weekly charter service between the two cities. The airline provides charter service at the beginning stage, having a plan to gradually convert to schedule service when the route becomes mature; and launch thrice weekly service starting 3rd July 2016. Royal Flight chose Macau as the first destination in the Greater China region. On the day of the first flight service, Royal Flight carried out an inaugural flight ceremony at MIA terminal, Mr. Eric Fong, Director of Marketing Department of Macau International Airport Co., Ltd. (CAM) represented to attend the ceremony.
Mr. Eric Fong extended a very warm welcome to Royal Flight launching new flight services in MIA, stated in the speech in the ceremony representing CAM. He expressed, “With the economic, tourism, and culture between China and Russia deepen in development, it builds closer relations and cooperation between the two countries. Russia possesses unique tourism resources, and Macau has a fascinating platform blended with cultural exchange between China and Portugal, it will definitely attract residents of both cities travel abroad. With a growing number of PRD residents going on overseas tours, this emerging travel market sees potential growth, and consist sustainable development. In addition, Russia is the third biggest tourist source for China, and Chinese generates the second largest tourist source for Russia. The airline can further develop Mainland China and Southeast Asia market via transiting passengers at MIA. With Royal Flight launches service between Macau and Moscow, it greatly provide convenience to passengers travelling between Macau and Russia, and at the same time further promote tourism development and enhance closer co-operation between the two cities. As always, MIA will continue reinforce existing routes and maintain close cooperation with airlines aiming to expand air services network.
