“Step Into 0.38’s Kingdom of Happiness” Art Exhibition Opening Ceremony

Macau International Airport (MIA) and Fuhong Society of Macau jointly organized the “Step Into 0.38’s Kingdom of Happiness” art exhibition at the airside of MIA Departure Hall, a grand opening ceremony was held on the 18th August 2014.  The one month exhibition aimed to showcase the artistic creativeness of disabled, so as to enhance public awareness to people with disabilities for the achievement of community integration in the long run.

The exhibition displayed nearly 40 art pieces, all the art works were drawn by an autism student Mr. Leong Ieng Wai.  With a unique preference of using a 0.38 black ink pen to depict the scenery of Macau, the pictures fully showed the mergence of Chinese and Western cultures of Macau, and at the same time showing the public the creative potentials of disabled.

MIA has always proactively promotes the development of arts and cultural events.  Through working with Fuhong Society of Macau, it granted opportunities for the disabled of Macau to demonstrate their artistic talent, and show the wonderful moments of their lives.  Mr. Eric Fong – Director of Marketing Department of Macau International Airport Co., Ltd. (CAM) expressed in his speech, he hoped by carrying out the captioned art exhibition will enhance public understanding and acceptance to people with disabilities, thus narrow down our distances and strengthen public concern to human rights for disabled, to create an inclusive society in harmony. 

The opening ceremony was officiated by Macau International Airport Co., Ltd. (CAM) - Director of Commercial Development Department, Ms. Winnie Hsu, and Director of Marketing Department Mr. Eric Fong, Fuhong Society of Macau President of General Assembly Ms. Ferreira Maria de Fatima Salvador Dos Santos, Service User Mr. Leong Ieng Wai, together with the presence of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region Senior Assistant Director Department of Social Affairs, Ms. Lam Tan Hong, Fundo das Indústrias Culturais Director of Board of Administration, Mr. Chao Son U, Macao Foundation Administrative Committee Member, Mr. Au Weng Chi, Centro de Activid Ades Juvenis Do Porto Exterior Director de Centro, Ms. Chan Wun San, Instituto de Acção Social do Governo da RAEM Chefia Funcional Subst° de Grupo de Apoio de Casos Para Instituições, Mr. Wong Kim Hong, and Macao Central Library Director, Ms. Tang Mei Lin.
