Visit to Thai Air Asia in Bangkok, Thailand, 14th June 2011

2011 / 06 / 17

Marketing Director of CAM – Mr. Eric Fong visited Thai Air Asia Headquarter in Bangkok together with Ms. Celia Lao, General Manager of Greater China and North Asia of Air Asia, on 14th June 2011.  Since Thai Air Asia started its first flight to Macau in July 2004, it was the second time of CAM to visit the Thai team and were warmly received by Air Asia’s Mr. M.L. BOVORNOVADEP DEVAKULA, Business Development Director and Mr. Santisuk Klongchaiya, Commercial Director. The significance of this meeting was to propose the adding frequency of Bangkok service to a four daily and was confirmed by coming December.  Besides, we proactively proposed the adding of new destination to increase the Thai leisure destination ex-Macau.  With Air Asia’s biggest GSA in China (Mr. Apotter Zhang- General Manager of Vim Holiday) to support the launch of Chiang Mai (CNX), a schedule charter service was discussed with a tentative frequency of 4 times weekly, and expect to launch this service in the 4th Quarter this year.

Chiang Mai, about two hours flight time from Macau, offers a different type of destination compared to other vibrant ones.  It is a more tranquil environment for leisure in addition to the rich cultural exploration.
