CAM Executive Director Mr. Chu Tan Neng Attended CAAC Meeting on Epidemic Prevention and Control, Industry Rescue and Development Economic Exchange Video Conference

On 23rd June 2020, Executive Director of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) Mr. Chu Tan Neng participated in the “Epidemic Prevention and Control, Industry Rescue and Development Economic Exchange Video Conference” organized by China Civil Aviation Administration (CAAC). The purpose of this conference is to meet the needs of the normalization of the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic, and to further strengthen the cooperation between the Mainland and Hong Kong and Macao civil aviation in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 and recovery of the industry. In the conference, CAAC representatives introduced the experience in the "four stages" and "eight coordination" for the civil aviation epidemic prevention and control, the China's civil aviation epidemic prevention technical guide, industry support policies for actively responding to the epidemic, and participation in the work of ICAO.  It was agreed in the conference that the COVID-19 epidemic had a huge impact on the civil aviation industry in the Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao. The Mainland and Hong Kong and Macao civil aviation industries should strengthen coordination and work together to overcome difficulties, jointly ensure aviation safety, improve the level of epidemic prevention, accelerate industry recovery, and participate in international cooperation. Since the outbreak, CAAC has always been highly concerned and supported the development of civil aviation in Hong Kong and Macao, provide and share China’s civil aviation anti-epidemic technology guide in a timely manner; coordinate and guarantee 9 charter flights to transport more than a thousand Macao citizens in Hubei to return home; actively support the smooth flow of routes from Hong Kong and Macao to the Mainland, stabilize and enhance the cargo capacity; the Ministry of Finance treats Hong Kong and Macao air transport companies equally to offer financial support as a help to prevent and control the outbreak and have stable development of the civil aviation industry in Hong Kong and Macao.
