On 22nd March 2023, a delegation led by Mr. Dicky Chu, Acting Director of Operations Branch of Airport Operations Department (AOD) of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) visited the Hong Kong International Airport’s (HKIA) new Integrated Airport Center (IAC) to gain insights and experience from the best practices and technologies implemented at the HKIA.

The delegation was warmly received by Mr. Steven Yiu, Executive Director, Airport Operations of Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) and his team. Mr. Steven Yiu introduced the development of HKIA and the ongoing project, and a tour to the new IAC was arranged by his team.

During the tour, representatives from AAHK has thoroughly introduced to the delegation about the state-of-the-art technologies and systems that are used for manage and monitor airport operations and were impressed by their operation measures with high level of efficiency and safety that are in place at HKIA. Furthermore, the AAHK representatives also shared experiences related to the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) pooling scheme and the charging facility, Work Control at Land Reclamation Site, Foreign Object Debris (FOD) Detection System, and Bird Control. CAM representatives expressed gratitude for the opportunity provided by AAHK and their arrangement of visiting HKIA and learn from their experience.
