Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) representative attended the Eleventh Meeting of the Air Traffic Management Sub-group (ATM/SG/11) of Asia and Pacific Air Navigation Planning and Implementation Regional Group (APANPIRG) of International Civil Organization (ICAO), hosted by Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) that was held at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Singapore, Changi Airport from 2nd to 6th October 2023, with a total of 122 representatives from 24 States, 2 Special Administration Regions in Asia Pacific Region, and 3 international organizations/industry partners. Mr. Hoover Hu, Senior Head of Air Traffic Service Division of Operations Branch of Airport Operations Department of CAM participated the meeting together with the representative from Civil Aviation Authority of Macao SAR (AACM).
The Air Traffic Management (ATM) Meeting is one of the most important meetings in the aviation industry. This meeting reviewed a total of 46 working papers (WPs), 25 information papers (IPs), 9 flimsies and 8 presentations, covering route planning, air traffic control operations, traffic management, minimum flight separation, emergency search and rescue, equipment surveillance, and aviation meteorology, etc. The establishment of relevant requirements and standards has a huge guiding role in guaranteeing airport operation efficiency and aviation safety management. Amongst, the meeting mainly discussed topics on reducing the minimum flight separation, increasing airspace capacity, accelerating electronic handover, improving the automation level of data exchange and reducing the workload of controllers. By participating in such meetings, Macau International Airport can ensure that it keeps up with the latest development requirements and guidelines of ICAO as the air traffic service provider. This enables MIA to meet the aviation business development needs and ensure high-quality development of the aviation industry in Macau.
