CAM Chairman of Executive Committee and Delegation Attended the 6th Air Silk Road International Forum

On 26th September 2024, Mr. Chan Weng Hong, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM), Mr. Chu Tan Neng, Executive Director of CAM and delegation were invited to attend the 6th Air Silk Road International Forum held at Chongqing. The forum was organized by the Air Silk Road International Cooperation Alliance (ASRICA), the China Association of Ports-of-Entry, the Finance Center for South-South Cooperation, and HNA Aviation Group Co., Ltd. The theme was “High-Quality Development of the Air Silk Road, High-Level Promotion of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor”. The content focused on topics such as openness, cooperation, intelligence, eco-friendly and low-altitude economy. More than 300 local and overseas representatives from international organizations, embassies and consulates in the Mainland of China, domestic and international airlines, airports, civil aviation industry and financial institutions joined together and provided suggestions and advice for construction and high-quality development of “the Air Silk Road”.

In the panel discussion of high-level dialogue with the theme of “Supporting the Belt and Road Initiative: Joinly Build the Air Silk Road with Ambassadors”, Chairman Chan and the panel discussed aviation cooperation under the “Belt and Road Initiative”, focusing on how to use various aspects to collaborate and foster the construction of the Air Silk Road and promote the regional economic development. Chairman Chan expressed that the development of aviation network is crucial for the construction of the air silk road. With the increase of air service between Macau and Chongqing, the air network will be further expanded so as to connect Macau to the coastal regions along the Silk Road by making use of Chongqing as a connecting hub. In addition, through the establishment of various mutual recognition systems of security inspection and safety management among the airport situated along the Silk Road, as well as the implementation of these systems in security inspection, customs and other operational processes, the flow of people and logistics could be facilitated while exploring greater market demand.

Other CAM representatives included: Ms. Yuan Weifang, Chief Representative of Beijing Representative Office, Ms. Sharon Wang, Director of Information Technology Development Department and General Manager of Airport Information Management Solution Ltd. (AIMS) and Mr. Daniel Lam, Manager of Marketing Department.
