New Routes Launch to Mainland China and South East Asia20 Oct 2010

Xiamen Airlines will launch its first Macau-Jinjiang service on 5th November, operating thrice weekly services on every Monday, Thursday and Saturday.  The flight arrives at Macau from Jinjiang at 12.20pm and departing Macau at 1.15pm.

This marks another new route for Macau International Airport since Mandala Airlines started the international flight services – Macau to Jakarta – on 21st July and Cebu Pacific Air also added new service between Macau to Laoag on 20th September, 2010.

By end of November, new entrant Jin Air, a Korean LCC will start scheduled service operating between Macau and Incheon.  In November and December, Air Macau will also add new destinations to Singapore, Ningbo and Hefei.  Macau International Airport achieved aggressive result on route development: For the 2nd half of the year, attracted two new airlines and six new routes in total.

As always, Macau International Airport has been developing new destinations and routes in order to enhance the network connection.  Since April, CAM-Macau International Airport Company Ltd organized delegation trips with the flag carrier - Air Macau, airport service providers, and tourism industry trade to visit the local government authorities, airport, aviation and tourism industry in Ningbo, Hefei and Shenyang; to discuss and explore the tourism opportunity especially on the feasibility of air connection.  Air Macau will launch two routes: Macau to Ningbo with 4 times weekly on every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday and Macau to Hefei with 3 times weekly on every Monday, Thursday, Saturday.

With the opening of more new routes, Macau residents and visitors will be greatly benefited in the strengthening of the air connections to South East Asia and mainland China, further in enhancing the leisure and business opportunities.  Attracting mainland China and foreign visitors to visit Macau and further onwards travelling to China, Taiwan and South East Asia.
