Xiamen Airlines Launch Dalian - Macau route on March 30

Xiamen Airlines launched daily air service of Macau – Dalian via Hangzhou on 30th March 2014, filling the lack of air route link between the two cities; Xiamen Airlines also plans to launch direct flight between the two popular tourist spots which will create more convenient economic channel for trade communication and tourist excursions in the future. Dalian is one of the best cities in China with its pleasant weather. This new route provides convenient travel between the two cities.

MIA Visit Wenzhou for Routes Promotion

Ms. Emma Tang, Deputy Director of Marketing Department of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) and Mr. Peng Yunfeng, Senior Manager of CAM Shanghai Representative Office went to Wenzhou on 20th March 2014, organized a route promotion meeting with four airlines operate locally and some major travel agencies with the assistance of Wenzhou Airport. In the meeting, CAM conducted a detailed presentation including the tourism resources information of Macau and introduction of MIA to the local tourism participants. Afterwards, meetings have been arranged with potential airlines for exchange of information and views. CAM will provide the best support and promotional platform to the airlines whom intent to fly to Macau.

MIA Recorded Continuous Growth in the Month of March

In March, Macau International Airport (MIA) recorded continuous growth on passenger traffic volume and aircraft movements. Passenger volume surpassed 440,000 and aircraft movements over 4,200, representing both 10% increase respectively comparing to the same period of last year. For the first quarter, MIA received over 1.28 million passengers and recorded 12,500 aircraft movements, up 10% comparing to the same quarter last year which indicating the growth of passenger market is stabilized while the frequencies and the destinations added are becoming more diversified. On the other hand, the Southeast Asia market presented slightly decline due to the unstable factor of some political situation. Meanwhile the mainland China and China Taiwan market performed well respectively with 20% and 14% increase compared with the same period.

Approval was gained for the resolution of the 2013 Activity Report, Balance Sheet & Income Statement and Supervisory Committee Report, as well as appointed the members for the supervisory committee 2014.

Jetstar Pacific Airlines Macau – Danang and Macau – Hanoi Inaugural Fl

The first flight of Jetstar Pacific Airlines landed at Macau International Airport (MIA) on 28th March 2014, providing two daily services between Macau and DaNang and one daily service between Macau and Hanoi. An inaugural flight ceremony was held at the airport with the presence of honorable guests including: Madam Nguyen Thi Nha, Consulate General of the S.R. of Vietnam in Hong Kong and Macau; Ms. Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, Director of Macau Government Tourist Office; Mr. Tsui Wai Kwan and Mr. Leong Sio Pui, Executive Director of CAM – Macau International Airport Co., Ltd.; Mr. Apotter Zhang, Greater China Director of Jetstar Pacific Airlines; Mr. Szeto Kwok Keung, Chief Executive Officer of Sunstar Travel Agency (Macau) Co., Ltd. etc., the ceremony scene was livened up.

MIA Representatives Participated in Routes Asia 2014 at Malaysia

Ms. Elizabeth Cheong – Deputy Director of Marketing Department and Mr. Edman Lee – Senior Marketing Analyst of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) represented to join the “Routes Asia 2014”, hosted by the State Government of Sarawak and co-hosted by Malaysia Airport Holdings Berhad, from 9th – 11th March 2014 in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. The Forum attracted around 800 delegates representing over 80 airlines, 250 airports and other representatives from over 60 countries worldwide. “Routes Asia” is one of the most important events in civil aviation industry, which provide a great platform for interaction and cooperation.

MIA Representatives Participate in World Low Cost Airlines Asia Pacifi

The 2014 World Low Cost Airlines Asia Pacific Conference was held in Singapore, during 18-19 February 2014. The event has attracted more than 480 attendees from 150 companies across 20 countries. The two-day conference provided a good networking and business exchange platform for senior airline executives, airport leaders and aviation partners of the region. Mr. Eric Fong and Mr. Daniel Lam, Director and Officer of Marketing Department of Macau International Airport Co., Ltd. (CAM) represented to attend this event. Meetings were arranged with various airlines to explore new business opportunities. Among those, Spring Japan Airlines and Jeju Air expressed interest to operate routes between Macau. In addition, taking this opportunity to share ideas with representatives from Citilink Indonesia, Nok Air, Peach Aviation, and VietJet Air and explore cooperation opportunities with CAM in the future.
